Construction Activity in the Public Right-of-Way

To keep the public safe while the site is under construction, barriers, fences and other gates are needed to isolate dangerous staging areas that may extend outside the project fenceline. The Project has obtained an obstruction permit from the City prior to placing any temporary construction-related obstruction in the public right-of-way, including City streets, sidewalks, bicycle facilities, and bus stops.

Traffic Control Plan

A Traffic Control Plan has been implemented to care for obstructions to vehicle or bicycle travel lanes, bus stops, or sidewalks.  The Traffic Control Plan contains a set of comprehensive traffic control measures for auto, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian accommodations (or detours, if accommodations are not feasible), including detour signs, lane closure procedures, signs, cones for drivers, and designated construction access routes. The Traffic Control Plan is in conformance with the City’s Supplemental Design Guidance for Accommodating Pedestrians, Bicyclists, and Bus Facilities in Construction Zones.

Transportation and Parking Demand Management

Suffolk will implement construction worker parking requirements as approved by the City of Oakland during construction to minimize impact of construction workers on adjacent parking. For any questions or comments, please Contact Us.
